I searched the 2011-2015 discussion area and looked at 50 pages i n the Lighting discussion (when the 5th Gens appeared) to no avail. I have an idea I wanted input about regarding the mounting of some rectangular LED fog lights on my 2013 XLT. I live on the coast so fogs are very helpful. Hoping to maybe aim them a little wide to expand the lighting to the side a bit.
I'd like to avoid using a bull bar or drilling holes but I am willing to cut the lower screen. My hope is to mount the lights in the corners of the lower intake area of the front as shown in the first picture. Ideally I can rest the light on the area marked "B" in the second photo and have the actual mount and wires go into the mesh area marked "A."
I might use some outdoor rated loop material (Velcro) to act as a cushion between the light and the area marked "A" and protect the paint. My preference is to minimize damage to the painted surfaces. Is that honeycomb plastic strong enough to hold in an LED light fixture? Any input, ideas, examples, etc. appreciated. THANK YOU.
