I have a 2004 Explorer XLT. I have the factory five spoke 16" x 7" wheels. I just put new tires on but the same wheel is losing tire pressure. At first I thought it was just an old tire. Does anyone have an idea what the average price would be for a replacement wheel? Also is there a slight possibility I could have a bad valve stem? Thanks for any feedback.

Try www.hubcaphaven.com to get an idea, there may be better deals out there, but they usually have what you're looking for.

i picked up a junkyard one for $100. . .guy above isn't too far off.

It could be a defective rim (pin hole leak) or the valve stem. Check with soapy water, or put it under water to see where the leak is. Check eBay, Craigslist, Junk Yard, or local buy and sell for a used rim.

Check craigslist, cheap ones will come up. I saw 4 wheels off a 2005 Mountaineer come up $80 for 4 rims with tires. Tires still had about 15K miles left on them too. I wish I had snatched them up when I think about it.

I've had aluminum wheels that leaked and was told that it was oxidation between the wheel and tire. A little buffing and sealer fixed them good as new. If you just had new tires put on, the shop will probably do it for free.

Or, you could check the obvious and see if you've ran over anything and poked a hole in it.

Try ebay....they have all sizes in both new and used. I just bought four new wheels for an 02 for less than $400 including S/H. Of course they are knock offs and not true Ford brand wheels....but to look at them, you can't tell the difference.
