Recommendations for replacement CD player

Someone mounted it on top the steering column on my '03 Mounty. Doesn't look bad.

I have it mounted on the column as well.

I will have to change my mind on the location and go with top of the steering column now too. Less hassle with having to tuck the wire all along the headliner, side trim panel, under the steering wheel, etc.

one of the best thing about the Bluetooth on this budget head units is that if you use google maps on your phone for navigation, it will stream the voice directions automatically (not just music) no need for maps or visual aids.
just make sure the feature is enabled on google maps (sometimes it's disabled)

i think waze does that too.

I just put this in mine a few weeks ago.

Little over your budget though but I'd say it's worth it to have a touchscreen that supports video. I also added a reverse camera.

If you don't need a video supporting touchscreen you can go with this if you still want BlueTooth handsfree calling:

or this if you don't need BlueTooth:

You absolutely will need this bracket: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000K52CX8

I'm not sure which wiring harness set you need having a Mach system with a subwoofer, probably one of these:

Hope this helps.

I finished installation last night after placing the cord for the bluetooth mic. I changed my mind again and decided to place it where I originally did--near the rearview mirror. A couple youtube videos I watched recommended that place for best sound quality. The biggest pain was trying to get the plug in behind the head unit from under the kick panel area. I used a metal hanger.

After driving to work this morning with my new unit and testing out the phone via bluetooth, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

*SIGH* Why o why did you go with a single DIN when you can get a double DIN for the same price (not a touch screen but still a double DIN)?

It looks so much nicer...

I finally got it installed today! One thing Crutchfield didn't include in the "things you need to install" was wire connectors, and it took me several days to figure out which ones to use. I read good and bad things about every type of connector, it seems, so I finally decided to just pick one. I used 3M heat shrink butt connectors. Not having used heat shrink before, I thought I could just use a hair dryer, but it took way too long. So I bought one of those long lighters that's used for grills and stuff, and it worked really well. Once I got the wire harnesses connected, installing the CD player was easy.

I didn't have much time to test it out, but I did try playing a CD and listening to the radio, and the sound is really good. Once I try out more of the features, I'll let you know how it's working. For now, I'm just excited to finally have it installed and be able to finish listening to my audiobook that I was right in the middle of when the old CD player messed up again.

Good units. I've had the older 300 series for a couple of years and it's been great. Enjoy!

How do you add pictures to your posts? I was going to post a picture of my new CD player, but it wants me to enter a website as opposed to uploading a picture.

Best method, pay $20 and become an Elite member.
Other method, use a website such as Photobucket to post a link. However, if you ever delete the picture from Photobucket, it's gone here too. Ever wanted to see picks in a 'How-To' and they're gone?
