I extended all my breather hoses (front diff, rear axle, tranny, transfer case) to ports under the hood, using 1/4" fuel line. They all work fine except for...

The rear axle. I get gear oil coming out of the breather tube. Somehow, gear oil travels from the axle to the end of the hose - not a lot, not every time I drive the truck.

I don't think the gear oil is foaming, and there is no water in the axle. It never leaked with the factory short hose. Could the hose be heated, and draw the fluid out?

Any thoughts?

How do you guys run your extended breather hoses?

...On my X, the rear breather hose goes up and is clipped to the top of the cross member for the shocks...It is a 2'-3' fuel line with no problems...:dunno:

...I think I have the stock one on the rear of my Ranger but, most just either clip it up to the bottom of the bed or I have seen them up by the fuel filler hose...

That's how mine used to be. I extended them since there is water and mud down here. :D
