Axle Ratio.

OK. I completely forgot about axle ratios. Can sombody re-teach me abou them. For example with the ratios of 3.73 and 4.30, I know that with the 4.30 you can tow a little more. Which gives better acceleration? Does one give better fuel economy, or is the final ratio the same, or does it depend on the car? Any info would help. Thanks.

with lower gears (higher numerically) your top speed will suffer but acceleration will improve and gas consumption will increase.

for example only example not real specs

3.73---- 15 mpg decent 60 ft times top speed of 115

4.56---- 10 mpg fast acceleration top speed of 90

yeah, i have 3.27.
the MPG is great, but i cant really put bigger tires on it.

the acceleration is still pretty good though. maybe it's because i have the 5 speed manual trans....
