back fireing question

what causes back fire?

i attempted to change my spark plugs and sparkplug wires and had a hard time but there all in and i cheaked twice that they are on there tight and the wire is fully connected.

now on 1 of the spark plug metal thing could have gotten off by the space between the head thing. would that cause it?

please help. i need it helped quickly

Sounds like you got the firing secquence messed up, check and make sure everything is hooked up right.
 






what do you mean by the fireing secquence?

now i know why i don't bother with the engine!

The order that the spark plugs fire is very important because the pistons must go up and down at specific intervals and the valves must open and close at specific intervals for the engine to run correctly. The spark needs to fire on the compression stroke of each cylinder. If you mix up the wiring, the spark will fire at the wrong interval for the cylinders with the mixed up wiring.

Here's a picture showing where the wires go on the 4.0L OHV. I'll try to find a better one in a minute
