I have a 2003 Explorer SportTrac, and the back window won't stay up. When I turn the button to send the window up, it goes up and then comes right back down. I'm able to push the button and have the window come up to the "vent" position, but it won't go all the way up. Has anyone else had this problem or know what might be causing this?

kinda

i tried to put one of those window flags on my back window, but as soon asa it hit the top it would go back down automatically, i even had the thing SUPER JAMMED UP THERE.... still wouldnt do it, i would check to see if you have something jammed in the top there, just the littleest thing would do it. Check for a little stick or something...

Do they have some kind of safety mechanism like garage doors?

Yeah the back window on the Sport Tracs have pinch protection. Something is in the way that it is hitting making it to go back down or the pinch protection is staying activated for some reason.
