Oh joy for me.

Fuel pump in XLT went dead two weeks ago, dropped tank and replaced it (with nearly full tank - ugh!) along with new filter. Took a few tries to start, but ran okay. Wife kept complaining was taking 3, 4, 5 tries to start and then after a couple days was driving poorly. Went dead on day 4. :thumbdwn:

Low and behold what is on the news?

So... Got the last 1/4 tank of gas out then dropped the tank again and replaced another pump and filter last night. Filled up with fresh gas + bottle of injector cleaner and back to normal operation.

Best part is the wife was driving my LTD explorer while we waited for the first and second pumps to arrive & of course had filled up at the same darn station. Now it doesn't want to start and is running like poo. Want to guess what I'm going to do this weekend?

Just thankful that I gas up my car at a Mobil near the train station so at least 1 vehicle didn't crap out.

I just replaced the fuel pump on my 96 Ex. Tank was nearly full also. Did not drop the tank. Now have access under the rear seat for next time. Biggest surprise? The tank looked like it was installed yesterday, inside was clean and clear, there was no dirt on the sock. Absolutely AMAZING. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I run StarTron in the gas, there for no water or varnish.
