I have a problem with my transmission, the reverse,1st and 3gears have quited on me few days ago, I understand they work together and that's why it all went out at the same time.

My truck will reverse very slowly if i rev it to like 4000rpms and once I let go the gas, the truck stops like if my handbrake was on. (checked the rear end, everything is fine), dropped the pan , no metal shreds, no weird smells, fluid is a little dark, not too much.

I'm replacing the low reverse servo o-rings tomorrow but I doubt this will help, they seem very dry and plastic like (not rubber).

What should I look for? can you point out to a specific part that does this crap?

sounds liek a rebuild is in order

I second that vote.

"the truck stops like if my handbrake was on"... not a good sign... so at the risk of offending... in neutral will it roll easily ? If so... something is afoot.

I'm not gonna try and jump into a full "from afar" diagnosis, but the initial prognosis... depends on your answer.

it will roll easily into neutral, aswell, the truck is driveable in OD without problems, or stranges sounds.

how do u do it????!!

my trans keeps going out, how can i make it beefier or get a diff trans, what up what can i do

If its auto...swap in a C5. Thats what I did to my old ranger. No OD, but its tough!

my explorer is a 92, would say a 94 be better i know i cannot go to anything that 120mph like a 95 06 or whatever?!

i also see all the other explorers on here with huge tire an stuff what do they do or use?
