Well folks i have to start somewhere I swear ihis is a pain in in A** can not go to local parts store for filter kit

WHAT !!!! ?????
Nobody said anything about a filter kit.....

1. If it only slips occasionally going into 3rd gear, you may just need a band adjustment .......which simply entails tightening an adjustment screw. It the adjustment screw will not "torque" up to specs, then BrooklynBay is right.....it is broken.

2. Or, it may just be the electronic pressure control sensor per the DTC Trouble codes.

***If it occasionally shifts into third correctly..........your intermediate band is not broken.

Attack your problem in that order if you have to start somewhere.
After checking the intermediate band, I'd certainly try replacing 1 sensor (new), before I replaced a whole block of "used" sensors bought off of e-bay. My God ! ! !

I would agrees about changing 1 solenoid a time but I understand this can not be done from what i have been told This tranny 5r55s in a piece of Sh8t

WHAT !!!! ?????

Well don't you think i should if it apart?

Oh......sorry.......mine is a 5R55 "E"

But, either way check the intermediate band adjustment first.

Does it slip occasionally or every time?

Loose drum bands are one of the most common problems for transmission slippage and easiest to fix. A broken band will require pulling the transmission to replace.

Always work through problems from least serious to more serious process of elimination. The following posting might help for troubleshooting problems.

It does it every time slips If i baby it into 3rd gear it will go ok just not a lot of gas LOL hope the block cures it

If it will sometimes go into gear by babying it......then, the intermediate drum band is not broken

Go have somebody adjust your intemediate band before you put that used block in it.

In my opinon, the used solenoids are the most absurd thing you can try.

Ok well it is off to shop for a Sat am operation

Lets hope it works!

Thanks for all the help

Update No luck with the solenoid block took down pan and the band was very loose so we adjusted it but still not any better so i guess i will have to get rebuilt

or get a used one somewhere
