Ball Joint HELP

I am removing a lower Ball Joint from a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport trac 4x4. Everything is off but I can't get the knuckle off of the ball joint.

Ihave hammer for an hour. Any suggestions?

I usually remove the rotor and put pickle fork in between rotor area and spindle. Then i hit on spindle with hammer.
