Every few months my battery goes dead. I don't use the X much as I have a company car, but there still has to be something wrong. My dealer has no confidence that they will be able to troubleshoot this.

I have a Bulldog remote start installed on the car. I have heard that these can cause issues with the batteries.

Any help/suggestions???

How often do you start it?

and not only are you just starting it, are you driving it too, or just starting to let idle for a few minutes... as the this last step will NOT charge the battery very much and may only add to the drain to the battery!

Did you tap the R/S lines into the factory door lock and unlock wires? If so you need to isolate them with diodes. If not the GEM won't goto sleep and will kill your battery.

I don't use or start the vehicle much, but it doesn't sit for more than 2 to 3 weeks at a time.

I'll have to ask the installer about the above post (diodes). If the Bulldog system didn't come with diodes, I'm sure they didn't use any. Just so I know, what are the "R/S lines"???
