Hey, how do I remove the stock battery terminals.. I have some replacement ones that would allow me to wire up things to the battery much easier..

They don't look easy to remove... and have two thick wires connected to each?..

this might help u. i had to replace the terminals not too long ago. they were starting to rot. it is pretty simple. if ur terminals are actually screwed in, simply unscrew it and cut the old wires where they were connected just a bit and cut the sleeve some to get some new wire for better connection and reattach. it sounds like its much but its actually like a 5-10 min job. hope that helps. check out my thread maybe u can help with my issue.

These ones seem to have plastic around the wires where it mounts to the terminal... I need to get some pictures..

i have a ton of junk attached to my cables... why do you need to change them? do you have the horse-shoe style or the ring-band style?

You would have to show me the difference, I'm going to say ring band style for now. They look like crap and they leave me with practically no room to put things on them..

i just changed my neg one monday. It had corroded. It was a pain to get the old wires off the old lasso type clamp because where the wires were attached it was a crimp....but it def made a lot better connection when done

just use a razor blade and cut the plastic shrink wrap thingy around it.

tip: its easier if you disconnect the short jumper cable from the frame

Could you perhaps show a picture of how the wires are attached under the plastic wrap?

here's my hook up...

i call them ring style bands...

That's the type I have.

Am I required to cut the wires? How are they attached under that shrink wrap stuff?

Another thought for you is if you have a battery with top posts and side terminals you can use the posts for the truck and the terminals into a junction block to wire your accessories into. Did this in a car I had years ago because of the same problem.

Money situation atm, I've got a pretty brand new battery.. for now.. I'm just wanting to swap out these terminals.. but I need to know how to get the wires off the stock ones with the shrink wrap off.. I'm probably gonna get told to cut it off and check but I would feel unsafe having em out in the open like that (I'm weird like that..) if they Need cutting, as I don't have cutting tools right now.. If I can get em off someway else.. I'll go ahead and do it.

Alright, got the positive terminal taken off, and the new one put on... My hands were freezing and it hurt.. so I gave up.. I'll do the neg tomorrow.

Quick question, what am I Supposed to use to cut these wires anyways? I was using wire cutters and it got messy, It looks like utter crap in the positive terminal... What's the best way to get a clean cut on these wires? It was hard as hell to cut them with the wire cutters... had to twist n bend to tear the end off....

Check pepeboyz... or a stereo installation shop. What time is it there?

5:30pm

If you have pepboyz out there or circuit city, call. The audio department should be able to tell you where they got them from...

Hmm... $ issues atm..

I hope my X doesn't decide to catch fire.
