Searched the archives on this, didn't find anything, so guess I'll ask here. I had 4.56 gearing and an ARB installed in an Explorer axle, which will be used for hard-core rock crawling. The mechanic who did the install said that the 8.8 housing didn't hold the pre-load on the bearing very well and that after a year or so of hard use the guts should be re-installed or the locker could blow. Any hard core rock crawling Explorer owners out there care to comment? Any solutions (aside from spending $250 a year to get the guts re-installed)? I've heard of bearing trusses for the 8.8, but am not sure this is the solution.
