been searching for a while now (couple months) and have came to the conclusion that i know what i want to do now. I am going to start buying componants to lift my truck. Im going with the warrior shackles and new lift springs. so my question is do i buy 1 1/2" springs or 2" springs? i know i will need to buy new shocks and possibly have her aligned? Is there anything else that i will need to know or do? im really excited to get this underway. i am definetly going to order the shackles tomarrow (friday the 2nd) so i hope i can get help when i need when i get this started.(and before). :D Thank you.

what are you doing to the front?
1.5" springs and 2" springs, whats the difference?
Go 2" but it depends on how you lift the front

I was going to buy lift springs to lift the front. Am i thinking the wrong way of doing this?
Edit: I am going to keep my stock seats just put new taller springs on there.

ah copy that, you said shackles and lift springs, I figured we were talking about the rear here.

Warrior shackles and 1.5" lift coils would bea great idea, you will need camber correction shims, likely the 2.75 degree correction shims for a 4x4.
I am hesitant to say get 2" coils because with a full 2" of lift you may not be able to correct the camber

Have you considered just using the F-150 spring seats up front?

i had thought about it but i think i want coils #1 mine are ugly #2 theres pretty colors to buy. but overall what would be easier?

same amount of work for both, seriously you have to remove the same bolt on the coil retainer either way.

You can paint your coils any color you want or heck have them powder coated!

Is your truck 2wd or 4x4?

I would buy:
F-150 spring seats
2.75 camber shims
warrior shackles

get it bolted in and take it for an alignment.

Your shocks will be just fine with this setup until you can get new ones

good time for:
brake pads, wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rods if needed

is this a overall cheaper way of doing this lift? I know that i need brakes, maybe a wheel bearing but will do both. Not sure on ball joints and tie rods how can you tell those need to be replaced? and i need shocks

cheapest way to lift your truck 1.5" by far yes
it also retains stock like ride.
Parts are like $150 alignment about $65

Brake pads: $45
Slide pins: $20
Wheel Bearings $10 x 4
Grease seals $4 x 2

brake cleaner, wheel bearing grease, hub tool, torque wrench all needed

Do you have auto or manual hubs?

might want to turn the rotors, check the brake lines, calipers...I can go on
Checking for looseness and play in your front end will tell you about yourr tie rods, ball joints, etc
with a 1991 unless its been done before more then once I am guessing it needs everything

You might consider doing this work before you lift it if $$$ is an issue
dont overlook radius arm bushings, sway bar bushings, axleshaft U joints all that fun stuff

yah i have auto hubs, they work. My front end doesnt have play i dont think (except for that one wheel bearing). my steering wheel has some play in it. and a vibration @ 65 could that be because of the wheel bearing? The great thing about my truck is im the second owner and the first owner kept her very beautiful and working like she's new. 1936xx miles on the original motor. anywho back to the subject. what brake pads do you run? i was thinking of upgrading to powerstop rotors. (maybe one day)

I run performance Friction carbon mettalic brake pads

I run timken wheel bearings
I run Moog ball joints

Autozone rotors work just fine for me, I change my pads before they get down too far

Yes your wheel bearings can cause a vibration as well as all the other stuff up front

i might order the shackles tonight if i can find a cheap price so far ive found 72 as the lowest and the highest in the 80s maybe 90s my math skills suck. where can i get the best deal?

actually you may try some of your local 4x4 shops that carry Warrior products, tell them the prices you have found including shipping and ask them if they want to match or beat it.
Support the local 4x4 shops! You may be surprised, they will fight for your business

i dont know if there are any local 4x4 shops around here but i can check. there maybe a place in oregon thats real close to where i live bout an hour.

Oregon is full of them!! Or so I thought

Lots of hard core wet wheeling in OR, not sure about where you are though

Yreka about 1hour outside of medford. i go there all the time but cant think of any shops there im sure there is but ive probably never seen them.
