- 98 ford explorer 5.0l AWD
I bought a 98 ford explorer 5.0l AWD Eddie Baur for 500 dollars (with brand new tires) from my guitarist wife and it has become my project for just over 2 years almost. Few minor issues it has, but the motor has become a work horse and growing up in a shop its been well taken care of and runs great. I'm currently in the hospital and have the time for homework on future plans for this explorer, hopefully I can share my project as it comes along so far all new speakers,radio,had some 12 inch subs but really not necessary I want it to run like a v8 should be,all brakes,plugs/plugwires,stage 2 shift kit really grabs second gear and hustles,gaskets replaced,and all o2 sensors replaced,transmission pan and fluids updated. Sits at 170420 for milage I think it had 156658 when I bought it. Still many things to update and upgrade final goal some gt40 heads and tear down of motor,and trans,transfer case for more power.
