i remember you saying a while ago that you were gonna paint that stuff, and i didnt think it was gonna look that good. i have the sme truck, and i kinda like the gray paint, but man was i wrong. that looks amazing. now im thinking about doing it to my truck (mines white.)

Man, that looks sharp!! I was wondering as well, how it would look with everything painted, but it looks really nice. Good job!

Jornum, kudos man! The truck looks really clean and nice. The combination of the monochromatic looks, the rims, grille, and lights really looks good. Just one thing: IMO the mirrors won't look that good painted red. They'll probably stand out a lot more after they're painted and will look like big red ears. They'll also stand out from a side view against the black windows and trim. Just my opinion, but all your other painted stuff looks great! Hey, to keep the speedster look, you might want to take off the roof rack crossbars.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks gusy i love it too.
I see where your coming from alec, The way that the lights are positioned so close to the windows, and the mirrors almost look like a extension of the window. I didnt think of that.
I am putting my rear slotted rotors on in a hour or so. HOpefully that will go well. I will post pics after.

First of all, I think your truck looks great.

The mirrors will look great painted red' its your truck, do what you want. Ignore the neysayers. You have ddone a splendid job on it.

the truck looks HOT. I always thought about doing this to my old black 95 XLT but never did. Now I know it would have looked GREAT. Keep it up, I've always been a sucker for some good custom rims....

I actually thought of doing something like that on my truck. I have black 98 sport with the grey fender trim. I was thinking of getting the fenders and bumpers painted to match the truck. I was just wondering where you got that done, and about how much did it cost? I am interested, maybe it could be something I do over the summer... :)

Truck looks amazing!! I would leave the mirrors as is if I were you and just change the spoiler. You should also send Rick some pics for the Explorer Sport Truck site.

WOW! Like that other guy at first when you said you were going to paint them I didn't think
it would look good, but that looks AWESOME. Very wicked looking. good job :)

Looks very clean!!!! Is that the new spoiler? Keep it up looks awsome!!

SWEET look man.. hey, what kinda superwhites are in your turns? I'm runnin APCs but they look brown..

btw guys love the new VB code section!

Thanks guys, I am baffled by all the positive responses. I got it done at a local autobody shop. I was originally quoted like 800 bucks for it. I didnt do it because I thought that was too expensive. Then I got in a little accident, and the front bumper, and left fender flares had to be replaced anyway. So They guy said he would do the whole thing for 200 bucks. SO I went for it. I am very very pleased with it.
No that isnt the new spoiler. It is a lund windjammer. I pained it myself. It came out good, just not as shiny as the rest of the car. WHen I put the new one on I will have the autobody shop paint it. they have to shave the ends of it anyway.
THanks again guys, keep up the comments, I am always open for suggestions.
About the mirrors I dont know. Because I never really pictured it. My friend mentioned it and I thought it would be cool because I know alot of customs do that. But Alec brought up the point that they kinda run in with the shape of the windows, and might not look right. I dont know, havent made a final decision yet. Obviously I dont just go do what everyone else does, I like the fact that I dont think I have every seen a explorer that looked like mine. BUt its not like it sticks out like a sore thumb. One of my goals is to keep it very clean looking. I am thinking of putting two custom white decals on the front fenders, with my Logo I made up. At least I think its indivudual. I am sure someone has thought of it before, but I like my design. I will try to make something to show you guys what it is.

Darkfox-

From what I can tell, he's running the same superwhites I run in my front clears, it comes in a package with some Asian lettering, and they never fade. They also give off a cool bluish looking tint to the glass. They are much better than the APCs. I paid $15 for 2 bulbs.

on the issue of the mirrors, i agree with alec. just my 2 cents. and once again, it looks great.

Painting Bumper

I have a 96 xlt with plastic/chrome/plastic bumpers and i want to paint them white. I don't need the skirts painted, just the bumpers. Also, how hard would it be to do it myself, cause i do have access to the right equipment and have painted cars before. Basically, is it any different than a normal paint job?

Once again, YOUR TRUCK RULES.

The red flowing around the truck looks pretty nice if I do say so myself. Once you get the wing, I don't know much else you could do.

LOOKIN GOOD.

The red is a major improvement over the grey, they grey made it look sorta clunky, but now everything really flows together. Great job!
