91 eb after wreck and now
Alright to start off my brother was on his way home and he was going up a hill when he said he looked down at the tach, when he did that the right side tires slipped off the road and he hit a gaurdrail and a street sign(the sign only got the mirror) The damage was as follows passenger side fender, both passender doors, mirror, and the quarter panel. After all this happend the insurance totaled it and we bought it back(at this point we had had it about 6 years).
Well after that time my brother bought a 95 thunderbird 4.6 and the explorer kinda slipped into my hands. So then one morning i was looking through the auto trader when i found a 1994 explorer xlt for parts, well we ended up buying the explorer for $800. During the next few weeks we took the doors and the fender off of the parts explorer. Then another day me and my brother went to the r&l salvage store and just our luck we found a dented quarter panel(the part we needed was in good shape) for 20 bucks.
Then my parents decided they wanted it to be all one color so they took it to macco(
) Macco had it back 1 day later than expected ad the paint was still tacky because they forgot about it. Not to mention now its all chipping off because they painted over mud. So with the body work done it now needed tires...so i found a deal on 31" bfg all terrains on american racing rock crawler wheels for $400 bucks. Once we put them on we realized 31's with no lift just wasnt going to work, so we bought a 3" PA body lift.
Then after all that we were going to my brothers friends house when the transmission decided to go. His friend who owns a 2000(i think) f350, crew cab, 4x4, powerstroke diesel came and towed us to his house. I found a tranny on here and we installed it and when we put it in gear nothing...what i think happend was the toque converter didnt seat right...but anyways... His friends dad said it had to be out of there so it was towed to our house, and since then i painted the grill and headlight bezels black. The explorer should be back up and running again once we are done with my brothers mustang..but that is another story. Enough of my rambling...the pics:
After the wreck:
After the repairs(we used the hood and liftgate because they were in better shape than ours)
We also ended up using the bumpers off the 94(the tan moulding was cracked on ours)
After paint(and mud
):
After tires, Bl and and the painted grill:
I appologize for the long post....
