best bang for the $$

99 Explorer 5.0 AWD "SVT"
alright guys what would be my best bang for the dollar.. i have a true dual exhaust already... pulleys? cold air intake? fuel injectors? maf ? bigger tb?. chip?(was thinkin diablo sport, but i want the badest one out there lol) NO superchargers, N2O, turbo's etc. nautrally assperated!! any free mods i could do to my truck( i no there are when it comes to an LT1, thats y i ask) lookin to kick some import a$$ lol.. thanks

I'd say go with the intake and the chip, then go with a larger throttle body. The aftermarket maf's are only a very little bit bigger than the stock so there isn't much bang for the buck there. Thats pretty much it for stage 1 mods. stage 2 would involve openning up the engine and modding the inside if you want to go that far. Search around this site, there are a lot of poeple that have done mods to their 5.0.
 






I've noticed the biggest improvement so far is definetly the chip... First performance part I purchased and I wouldn't have it any other way.

apten?? is there a sit / specs....plus i have AWD would a **** kit kill me?? i was thinin the shft improver that ee has plug in not the valve boby...what about cam and headers??

The AWD is a function of the transfer case, not the transmission, so it wouldn't effect the AWD.
 






The EE sway bars are my favorite mod. no more goinging through the turns.

k&n +tube intake provides a small amount of throttle response.
apten chip lets the motor rev better

These are all with regards to a 93 sport so I don't know what applies to you.

well with the AWD i ment: when i did my shift kit to my 96 impala ss my 70 chevelle and my 01 excursion PSD the rear tires "barked" ( u no b/c of the firmer shift durr..) but wioth all wheel drive will i be more likely to brake something...( noithing to "give"? dotn think i dopnt know s* about cars please) thanks mike jr

4r70w? is that my trans?? ( my chevelle is a th400, impala ss is a 4l60e etc what about trans go shift kits?? has any one done one of those??
 






what about bigger cam, headers, bigger TB,etc... where can i get it??..also what about any free mods like ( i dont know about the 5.0 but with the LT1 in my impala) airpump delete?? stuff like that? also with the chip, did you guys see a huge diff. in power?? thanks

For your stock 5.0 an e-303 cam would be a good improvement. Headers are near impossible to find unless FMS still has some, and if then they are not much of an improvement from what i hear.

Yes that is your trans. Don't know much about the Trans-go, but I've heard good things about the Baumann kit. I have one waiting to go in one of these days.

Do a search on cams here, there is a ton of info on them. You will have to go with custom made headers because there aren't any for the 5.0. I think I am the last one to find some Ford Motorsport headers on e-bay. But you can still try your luck there.

I have a transgo kit in my 92 SC
works good. there is a review of them on sccoa.com

Does your trans have a lockup style converter.
if it does you can do like I did on the sc and put a 3000 stall speed in it.. .. launches hard but when it goes to 3rd and OD its in lockup mode 1-1 so no gas milage problems or tranny overheating problems.

kool free mods...yes mine is i belive but i just had ford put a new tq in my truck lol so if i can just leave that alone...well for now...what stall is stock? 1300??
