probably a tuff country 4 inch or 5 inch drop brackets and coil along with a pit man arm and then do a soa in the rear thats what im doing

look at the sloped body lift +soa in the suspention section of the forum. basically its a 3" body lift + coil spacer and soa,the body lift blocks are cut graduatlly going towards the back, guy has lots of miles on it, working great for him. check it out.

and the cheapest way to get 4-5 inches on a first gen is F150 coil seats for the front, extended shackles for the back, and a 3" body lift. I got my coil seats from a junkyard for $5. The best shackles, i'm told, are warrior shackles (about $60), and a Performance Accessories 3" body lift will run you right around $100.

Here is TBARS' write for coil seats and shackles...

Look on www.4wheelparts.com for body lift for your truck - they sell the performance accessories.

And just search on here for "body lift". Hope this helps you out.

1) that pic is in ricks signature (it says "search explorerforum")

2) the cheapest suspension lift is going to be tough country, rough country, or james duff. A lot of people on here use the james duff & I've heard a lot of bad things about the first two.

Or, you can go the way I am and piece together your own lift. I'm using new Superlift brackets, used skyjacker 6" springs, used rancho shocks, and $32 Spring Over Axle in the rear. It's going to end up costing me about $400-$500.

Does anyone have any pics of this? How are the ranger lifts different? How big of tires can i go with on the shackles and f150 springs and seats.

as for the shackles and f150 seats, and what size tires...look here http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67200

i would say the "best" "cheap" lift would be trailmaster. that's what Froader used to run and looked like it worked good. or the Tuff country lift would be ok, if you just want something real cheap.

A sloped body lift? Are you kidding me, so he lifted one end of the truck with a suspension lift and the other with a body lift? What if you wanted to lift it higher down the road that seems like to many problems.

Ranger lifts are different in how they lift the rear since explorers have spring under axle you either have to get arched springs, shackles, add-a-leaf, or convert to spring over axle, While most ranger lifts use blocks which would lower an explorer. The fronts are the same between 4WD.

I'd go with 31's-32's with the shackle and spacer.
