ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR A PERFORMANCE COMPUTER CHIP. I KNOW THERE IS JET, HYPERTECH, SUPERCHIPS, AND DIABLOSPORT. WHICH OF THESE IS THE BEST. THANKS

theyre all gonan do pretty much the same thing. i have a superchip, and its awesome. id stay away from jet chips though - theyre like the 1985 olds cutlass of performance chips, heh.

Im alittle afraid of getting a chip, i have a fealing i will cause some kind of major damage to something, but thats just my luck!!
Do you think his is a stupid thought?

I believe it's the Diablosport that has the option of a chip where you can select it to use either premium gas, or a less "power" mode to use just regular.

no i dont think its a stupid thought. some people do have probs with their chip; i was one of those people. i developed a little tiny but of corrosion between the ecu and the chip, just enough to lose a little contact in there, and my truck was stalling, but i sent it back to superchips (just in case) and they sent me a new one for free, and now im just gonna seal the chip so moisture cant get in.

it really is an AMAZING mod. you get more performance out of it than exhuast (IMHO), more than a KKM (this is a fact), more than anything short of forced injection/nos.

i have no idea about this. i didnt know any chip offered it, but i dont really pay attention to anything but superchips stuff, since thats what i have.

there are a couple of chips out there that offer something like that but they are very expensive and are a waste of money most of the time. Superchips sells a flip chip for 500 dollars and i belive jet or hypertech all so have some thing like that. Diablosport which is what i have a programer for does not have a flip chip just yet they are supose to daybue it in a couple weeks but it not for shure yet when they will releash there flip chip. i would say that the two best chips are diablo and superchips. i could explain more if you want ok.

explain more please :D also.. which would you choose for a 93 with the KKM and soon to have exhaust, and do you think they (chips) are something good to put on a truck like mine (64000 miles)

So could someone answer my eternal question about chips? Do they effect mileage? If not, I am going to buy one next week.

well the superchips and diablo are very similar because the head programer from superchips left about two years ago to open diablo chips. after he left things went down hill at superchips. his new company does a better job at programing the superchips but the only problem is that a lot of older files 95 and earler they do not have that means they cant make a chip for you unless you check to see if they have it or you send them your computer. as fair as standered chips are concerned they are about equal but when it come to custome programing i would put my money on diablo. your truck is fine to chip at 60000 miles not a problem at all. your best bet is the superchips though for the fact is a older truck.

no it will not eat your mileage. you will have to use premium gas though - be aware of that. the only way you will lose mileage is if you get a heavy foot with the added power - i think i actually read a few threads of people claiming a gain in mpg, personally, i havent seen that, my mileage stayed about the same.

the more efficant the motor becomes the less fuel it uses you will either pick up 1 or 2 mpg but if you dont you wont loose any either so not big deal the hardest part will always be keeping your foot out of the power.
