good to know, probably a good winter project. that and a blower :)

You will love the sound:D

i was almost concerned about it being too loud though... no muffler and all

Its never too loud;)

too true...do you run a high flow cat?

On my 94 I am complete stock. But my old 92 had a high flow cat:D

did it help? mine is starting to plug right now so i am considering making it "high flow" ;)

It was on the truck when I bought it.:D

i see. more flow = power. for the most part

i ran a 40 series flow for about a year and it just wasn't loud enough.

But with the flows, you can get the American Thunder exhaust system which is REALLY loud all the time or a different system which is loud only when you punch it or one that is quiet all the time (BORING!!!!)

hmmm "high-flow cat" Shop vac+ Broom handle+ cat= empty "high flow cat" lol well it works til i have the $$ to buy a high flow cat.

I'm running a V-Force in my 92' right now, sounds alright. Is it ok to run without cat's? The install shop said if it ain't loud nuff to bring it back and they'll make it louder.

How they gonna do that?

I had a thrush muffler on my explorer before it died. it was only like $17. and then i just cut out the old one and welded in the new one. not exactly loud, but deeper than stock. got louder as it got older, burned up the packing that was inside it.

Now on my ranger i have a custom catback w/ 2 1/2" pipe and a 40 series flowmaster. exits lightning style. sounds damn good. pretty loud, has some interior resonance. i like it. makes my 3.0 sound like a v8 somewhat.

you cannot run to much flow or you will loose hp and tq. i wouldnt suggest running ove a 2 1/4. but ask the other guys i just got an explorer and dont know much about it but me and my friend ran 2 1/4 on his 2.0 4 cyclinder ecplise anything bigger would have lost power. we had more mods on it like a $300 intake. if i was to run a custom exhaust on my explorer i would run no bigger than 2 1/4.

Im looking for the V8 sound for my 98 v6... which exhaust should i go with for that? I dont want something overly loud, i have my car for that. I want something that just sounds like its a V8 rather then the v6. Thanks

XLT
