Hi, long time reader but first post so bear with me here :)

Just received and installed my tune from Livernois on Wednesday I believe and I'm having a hard time picking and choosing the gauges to show on the tuner. Was wondering if anyone else had a decent setup for their gauges that I may use. I was also looking for a boost gauge and was unable to find one but it is quite possible I overlooked it so if anyone has the location please let me know. I could always go out and buy an actual gauge for boost but I'm not fully convinced if I want that or not as I'm not entirely sure where I would place one.

Thanks in advance,
Exploring

P.S. I tried to search the forum for a previous thread but was unable to find one, sorry if I missed it :(

Welcome to the Forum from the crew at Livernois Motorsports!

Thanks for your order as well. The gauge layout really depends on what all you are looking to monitor. You can look at coolant / engine temps, boost, o2 sensors, knock, Lambda, you name it. All the Mycal gauges are displayed in Ford's native language so boost for example is read from the MAP or Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. The MAP pid is displayed in InHg which is roughly double boost pressure or divide the number by 2.036 to be exact. To find the MAP / Boost reading you'd select Gauges, then Airflow category and then look for MAP. Some other common gauges or things to monitor would be RPM, AFR / Lambda, Knock Knk Adder, Fuel trims which are short term or long term STFT LTFT, temps such as ECT and Cat temps.

Can you please detail what to toggle, in the programmer, to monitor boost, engine coolant temps and

This is great information - thank you! Is there a key that outlines what each of Ford's "native language" information is looking at/measuring? I.E., what it translates into? I think that would be helpful to then cross reference with the gauges in the programmer. Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words! There's not a complete list of gauges and all their formats unfortunately since the gauges are continuously being improved and updated and different vehicles have different working PIDs. But you can normally just thumb through them and see what works best for that specific vehicle and time frame. There's a Temperature category for example that includes catalytic converter temps Cat Temp Bank 1/ 2, cylinder head / coolant temps CHT and ECT, manifold charge temps ACT / ACT 2, etc. Those temp type of readings are typically displayed in degrees Fahrenheit.

I got it. I have the tuner now, too, and have looked through the gauge options. I have to be honest, most of it's Greek to me. :) I mean, I know what the MAP is and some of that; however, it would be nice to know what to toggle, exactly, to monitor Coolant temps, boost, airflow, wastegate information, etc. From there, if there was a range of what's acceptable, that would be wonderful. I.E., if the coolant temp. is acceptable, the output is green. If it's medium, it's yellow. High, it's red. Same with boost. I'm sure that takes some manipulation on the programmer, but sure would go a long way to help the average Joe that is interested, but not a die hard statistician.

Thanks for your suggestions, I will be sure to pass that along to the software engineers. I agree the color coded stuff would be great too, but I'm not sure that any handheld programmers on the market's gauges are quite that in depth.
