If I'm not mistaken, 97+ have to do more then just swap color lights -- there is a green film on the back of the switch that has to be scratched off.

my 97 didn't have any green film behind the gauges. The easiest way to tell is pull a light bulb out behind the cluster, if it has a blue cover on the bulb there is no green film behind the gauges.

Hm.. interesting. I must have misread something, then.

autolumination.com has all sorts of instrument cluster LEDs with the base... if you just want the LEDs themselves, I've had good experience with "besthongkong" on eBay (like 14 bucks shipped from HK for a set of 50 LEDs with 470ohm resistors; discounts on multiple lots -- I paid $26 for 100 whites).

I've bought tons of LEDs from besthongkong as well. Dirty cheap prices. You need WIDE angle LEDs other wise you will get a dot of light.

i got some from some guy in HK too.. i dont know if i got the wide ones, oh well, ill make it work.

If you got standard 30-degree LEDs, you can increase the angle by filing down the top of the plastic lens.
