Although this is an all-season tire, not suitable for some of you serious off-roaders, I wanted to share a positive experience with the newly introduced BFG Long Trail T/A Tour tires.
I replaced my warranty replacement tires (Michelin XC LT4) after many years of service with these BFG's:
They are rated as extra load (108T vs 108S) and the increased load rating translates to a stiffer sidewall; more up to the task of supporting my '99 XLT. These are not the wobbly balloons the XC's were.
Most of the side-to-side whiplash I used to deal with when crossing speedbumps at an angle is gone. Also, this last weekend, I drove on a winding country road and found myself able to maintain speed without the car "drifting" on its sidewalls.
So far all the driving has been on dry pavement, so this is a preliminary review, but already I can recommend them over those Michelins, especially for those of use who drive on pavement.
