Finnaly I'm back on this forum, we had a huge party at our house and my laptop got a little busted so it took Best Buy almost a month to fix it.

Anywayz, I'm driving my moms Mounty for now until the dealer gets my 02 Mounty in, I came back from school and went into the house and came outside 5min later to help my sis pack up for Fantasy Fest in the Keys:eek: , and their was green coolant pouring out from under the truck. We have a 6 car garage and I just drove in and left the garage doors open and half of the garage was covered in a puddle of the liquid and it was leaking out onto our drive way. We called the dealership and they sent a tow truck to bring it in and even the tow truck guy was like "Holy ****!" he had never seen a vehicle leak like that.

I've seen leaks like just drips or whatever, but it was like pouring out from under the engine, what the hell could have happened??

what would have caused a leak that bad?? Her Mounty only has about 30,000 miles on it also its a 5.0 V8, an engine not known for leaking, thats why I couldn't believe how bad it was.

Sounds like it "over heated". Did anyone do anything with the coolant system? Add fuild?

The late-model explorer 5.0's are known for leaking.

Apparently, Ford had casting problems in the later years. It's probably leaking from around the heads.

Not sure what to tell you though, because I'm not so sure a new gasket would fix it.

My '00 V8 started leaking when it had less then 10,000 on it. I found out it had a defective lower hose clamp on the radiator. So you probably check the hose and clamps to be sure there tight. Hope this helps.

P.S. - what is this fantasy fest in the Keys? I know I heard something about stuff going on at Halloween at Key West. Are these event same??

My mom picked up the truck today and it was a hose that came loose and basically drained the whole coolant system. We have a huge friggen garage (6 cars air-conditioned) and it leaked all over the space where 3 cars would be then it drained onto our driveway. I rarely use the garage and the 1 time I use it, it gets leaked all over, damnit:confused: . Now theres like a green stain mark.

It was a hose so kinda like your problem except it wasn't really like a leak, more like a faucet running, the whole system was drained in less than 5 min.

Fantasy Fest is insane, kinda like the Key West version of Mardi Gras except more Halloween orientated, it's pretty wild, I couldn't go b/c I have been getting a crap load of work in college which sucks azz big time.

another possibility

If your water pump fails, it can pump water out just about as fast as you can add it to the radiator.

The water pump on my Ranger failed and the coolent just poured out. There is a "weep" hole in the housing that will leak the coolent out when the seal fails.
