so i bought my 31" maxxis m/t's about 1000 miles ago.. and so far ive already needed to have two of them patched... and then today.. a third one blew out.. it is not repairable and will need to be replaced.. my parents are taking it out on the shop that put them on... they think that they were old re-treaded tires or something... my question is.. am i just out of luck? i can see running over a nail.. no tire can stop that... but it seems very unreal that one would randomly blow out on the highway going 65 for no reason... they show almost no wear at all either... should i... 1. just shut up and replace it and hope the new one wont blow? 2. talk to the shop and make them replace it? 3. talk to Maxxis and make them replace it? or 4. replace all the tires? im kind of in a bind because i saved and saved to get these and they've been nothing but trouble... someone please help! thanks!

I say take them back to the place that put them on and see what they say. Tell them what has happened and that you want them all replaced. The worst that can happen is them saying no.

Sounds like a tire defect. You'll probably have to take this up with Maxxis unless you have some kind of road hazard warranty through the shop.

defective tire is defective tire.

If they say no, I would bring a lawyer in the mix.

Got Good Years attention to my tire issue ;)

well i took my tire in to the shop that put them on. they told me it was an *impact break* and in the Maxxis warrenty that Fr Marquette posted a link to, it says that the warrenty does not cover impact breaks... but since I only had 2500 miles on them, the shop worked out a deal with me to run a tread depth check, see how much is left on them, and adjust the price of a new one accordingly. It ended up costing me $40 for a new tire because they told me mine was 25% gone... wow... so that means... 2500 x 4 = 10,000 mile tire? wow... ive taken good care of these tires too... considering ive spent so much on them all from my own, very shallow, high school aged pocket. i thought about getting another shop's opinion about the tire's condition.. but ended up just paying the $40. it sucks and its a bad deal... but what do you do.. you know? the worst part about the whole thing was that i didnt even blow the tire out 4-wheeling... it was on the stupid hiway.. oooh well.. thanks for all your suggestions though! it was greatly appreciated! thanks!

hey man ive noticed not alot of ppl have used those tires around here but ive seen them cheap on ebay and was kinda skeptical... they are buckshot mudders i take it?? if so they they are prolly more like swampers instead of real MTs .. my buddy had his swampers on since last september and already has to replace them... so thats your difference in mudders and MTs the tires are pretty much soft compared to a MT if that is your situation..throw on some kumhos if you can. i paid like 110 bucks a tire for 33x12.5

well when i bought them i was told that they'd last me about 30,000 miles... but 10,000??? yea.. well i guess i wont be buying these again... i think my next tires (33") will be a/t's. only because i don't have the time to do as much 4-wheeling as i hoped... and my X is my daily driver.. so yep. i was looking into either the super swamper radial trxus sts or the bfg a/t. both are a/t but the super swampers are a lot cheaper. any thoughts on those two>? thanks!
