bigger tires and rims 2000 mountaineer

how big can i SAFELY go on my 2000 mountaineer? 4x4 v6 4.0. thinking 16". any ideas, thanks. mike:exp:

are you putting low profile style tires, or are you looking to add those mud bigger style tires? I had 22" rims on my 2000 and they fit just fine. The ride sucked cause there was hardly any sidewall to the tire, but thats all preference.

Are you trying to fit like 33x10.50's or is this a street truck?

Honestly I don't like it much up there in Sedona anymore. Things have really changed, same with Jerome. I guess that's what's kept me from doing any wheelin' up there.
