Hi guys,

I desperatly need to lift by a couple of cm. Mine is a 04' with stock 245/65/17 michelin LTX pilot Horrible in rugged tracks and a nightmare in sand How can i get a better clearance without modifying the shocks?

No need to post the same question in two different sections of this forum.. Unfortunately your limited due to the design of the newer body style of the Ford Explorer. Your only option is a body lift. Refer to the following section regarding modifications to the 2002+ Ford Explorer. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=98

This looked like the right place to ask this question I have asked it before in another thread but I thought it belonged here. I have a '97 X with stock tires and rims. I going to 31 x 10.5 X 15 will they fit or do I need to upgrade the rims, have recieved answers just want to double check before I drop coin on anything. i believe the stock teardrops are 15 x 7....Thanks

they will fit

All of these answers will be easily found using a search with the key words included. Not to be an ass or anything, but both of these questions have been covered before.

Just a personal experience question I have NOT seen the answer for. My x has 88k miles on it, I am not sure what repairs have been done to the suv other them ball joints, because I am the second owner. Is there anything anyone would recommend I do to the suspension such as replace/upgrade some parts before I do the lift and install? As to all my other questions I have found the answers thank you all very much. I am plaqued with a need to confirm some things for myself before I do it even though some answers may already be there. It has something to with the measure twice cut once theory. Thanks

On a side note to the fox's quote on the bottom. I just recently sold my wife's durango and bought her a Jetta which gets about twice the mpg as the durango on a good day. My wallet could not afford two suvs in the driveway
