A 295 is pretty wide for a 7" wide wheel, but do-able. Probably not advisable... Tire wear will suffer a little.

I'm running 12.50 on my stock rims with no problems, I just have to air down a bit to make sure the tread hits the ground flat from lug to lug.

A lot of people put 285/75-16's on, in my opinion that's about the limit since the rim is 7" wide. They make 305/70-16 (33") and 315/75-16 (35") tires but they really need to be on an 8" or 10" rim.
