hey man i got a 96 manual explorer and i put some 3 inch leaf spring shackels monroe coil over shocks in the back and heavy duty truck shocks in the front and cranked up my torsion bars 3 inches, basically where my cv's will wear premature but not explode, i wanna put some 31 11.50 super swamper ltb's on it but i need to know if it will fit without rubbing i got 15x8 steel rock crawler rims. if u know man id appreciate it if not thats finemynameisaric said:most tire shops(at least in my area) WILL NOT put oversized tires on your explorer. you have to bring in the rims without the vehicle and have them mount the tires. the stock rims will hold 33's i believe(they will bulge out like crazy, but its actually better when running low psi off road)
stock you can fit 31's(may require minor triming)
tt/shackles you can fit 32's(may require minor triming)
tt/shackles and 2" body lift you can fit 33's(may require minor triming)
tt/shackles and 3" body lift you can fit 35's(may require major triming, and some people have had problems with the front end holding up to the strain of 35's)
if you plan to go offoad quiet often, get M/T's! i got A/T's and regret it.
