I got the Blaupunkt HU from costco for Christmas, and at first it worked great, but now when I turn up the volume, I get this weird static from the speakers. No, it is not distortion (at least not like it normally would be if you turned the volume up too much). This sounds kind of like static, but it won't go away unless I shut it off and turn it on. I can still hear the music when this happens, and when I adjust the volume , the volume of the music changes, but the static stays at the same volume. This is driving me nuts, because I have triple and quadruple checked the wiring, and there are good connections everywhere, and it is exactly like the instructions say it should be. One more thing, I used the scoche wiring kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

check the ground. I had the same problem with my Blau Austin

That's the first thing I checked. I even attatched an additional ground wire that I knew to be a good ground to the HU. The problem is that it only acted up after about half an hour, or when it got warmed up(and it did get really warm, almost too hot to hold). Anyway, I returned it to Costco, no questions asked, and got a Pioneer P4400. The pioneers quality is WAY better. I thought the Blau was a huge leap in sound quality over the stock system, but the Pioneers quality is that much more again. Thanks for the help though.

HEY NOW!!

Are you telling me that my HU is not up to "par"???? Just Kidding. Yes Blau's do get HOT!!! But I Love em!

Glad to hear you are happy with the pioneer (sucker) Just kidding again.

So all Blau's get hot? I thought maybe it was defective of something. Also, the one I had was from Costco, and I'm pretty sure it was their bottom of the line model. Isn't the Austin higher up the line?

Blau

It's in the upper middle
