Bleach on Carpet!!! Can you help me?

HELP! I was helping my Mother and had some bleach in a bottle and the cap was leaky. It leaked all over the place. It ran up under the door scuff piece. It is not that bad but bad enough none the less.

Now how do I fix the carpet? Can I dye it or spray it?

Dying is messy, and difficult to match on older carpet. I'd probably just replace the carpet. It's not that difficult, just sorta a PITA.

Replacing it is probably your best bet.

Sorry dude but you have to replace it. The bleach has already dammaged the carpet and if you try dying it it's just gonna start falling apart.

Before you spend $150 on a new carpet give a $4 vinyl rattle can spray a shot. You might get the right shade of grey that is "good enough" to save the carpet. I have this Husky Liner floor mat in the rear. This saved my carpet a couple of times.

That was my first thought too.

Cheapest solution would be to dye it. Best looking solution would be to replace it.

I felt the carpet and it is still plyable and not all crispy. I think I will help her dye it. I don't have the dye so we will have to find it. Any suggestions?
