Blind Spot Alert in FordPass App?

Does anyone know what could cause this alert and what I should dig into to fix this? I don't have a warranty so I'd prefer to try and fix it myself.

In the app it says "Blind Spot Detection with Cross Traffic" - "The side obstacle detection control module found a communication problem."
There are no further details other than a notice that the vehicle should be taken to a dealer.

Have you actually confirmed that there is a problem with the system? I believe that should produce a trouble code as well as a warning pop-up on the vehicle's screen/display.
