I have a '92 XLT that has started blowing out fluid under it when I am driving on the interstate. It has 147,000 orginal miles on it. I also have noticed that if I only drive it around town I have to add fluid to it after about 2 weeks or so. Is this something that I can fix easily?

depends on you're definition of easily. i would consider it a relatively easy fix... if you have access to a lift, as it sounds like you're trans just has a leaky seal (when the fluid is hot and under pressure, it makes its way out). the fix will require removal of the transmission.

If the leak is caused by venting due to overheating, you may be able to install an aux tranny fluid cooler. I had to add one to tow my boat.

I even went so far is to add an electric fan infront of the Aux tranny cooler to keep the tranny from overheating.

Good luck!
