blown motor?

so i have a 93 ford explorer sport with 240,000 + miles on it n my water pump blew out n now my motor sounds like its diesle n it hardly runs so i have no clue but im guessin the motor is shot n i was wonder if a 302 would fit in it or where i could find a SOHC 4.0 v-6 cuz i dnt like the pushod v-6

Welcome to this forum! You could rebuild the old motor instead of throwing another used motor into it.

would it be worth it? a guy looked at it n he said it sounds like my pushrod is smacking aound inside but i started it up after school today n it wasnt making any noise but when i shut it off it was hissing n it was only running for about 2 minutes

A hissing sound might be a possible vacuum leak.

possibly i know my entire vacum system was skrewed up before n my dad just gave me a plug to put on the one conection but it seemed like maybe a hose should've been there but i have no clue everything is goin bad on my explorer my tranny slips in first gear i snapped a automatic 4 wheeldrive hub n u have 2 diff. gear ratios i have a 317 and a 5l2
