For the record, I am not immune to all the oddball instances of the MFT behaving rather badly. I can listen to my IPhone on Bluetooth on an initial start up, but when I shut down, say to go into the packy store, the MFT goes haywire with the reconnect to the IPhone. May be the IPhone:rolleyes:

I found a solution, although not ideal, and that is to turn off the Bluetooth music on the MFT settings and connect the phone via the USB port. This does have the advantage of also charging the phone, it's just a hassle to plug & Unplug. However, it seems to be working OK. So far, so good.

I am lucky as the MFT is the only problem that I have experienced with the Explorer. I will probably NOT upgrade the firmware when released so that I at least have something to post and complain about. :D

I have had similar issues (I rarely try Bluetooth Stereo anymore). I also started losing USB audio as well (it would show as playing but nothing would be coming from the speakers). If you encounter this problem, one sure fix is to unplug your iPhone from the cable and plug it back in (this workaround fixed my USB audio problem 99% of the time). While annoying, at least it works. The one thing I noticed will make USB audio stop working is changing sources on the iPhone (i.e., change from song or podcast stored on iPhone to streaming (Pandora or something else). I don't know why this suddenly makes the USB audio stop working (or at least stops the speakers from playing what is being input via USB), but it does for me the majority of times. The unplug and replug fix works for this.

I really hope the new update fixes all these problems. I would have more confidence if Ford had implemented a more comprehensive beta program than it apparently has.

How do you turn off Bluetooth Stereo via MFT settings without disabling regular phone Bluetooth for making calls, etc?

The problem seems to be because MFT connects the audio from the last connect signal it gets. So if you start the vehicle and then plug in the phone via the USB port, it will pick up the audio thru the usb port via the iPhone connector. If you stop the car, leave the phone plugged in and start the vehicle, it first picks up the USB connection and then the Bluetooth audio thereby overriding the USB. You have to unplug and replug the usb to get it work.

I found an app for the iPhone that blocks the Bluetooth Audio which solves this problem pretty well and still allows Bluetooth for the phone functions (calling, etc). A2DPblocker
