Body lift done yesterday and it sucked!!

Well I have read many of your pages but geez the last time I looked it was several pages long and who has the time to go read through all those pages again. I'm kidding, but honestly I went through all of your pages once and you did a great job but its just too long for me and I stay clear of it.

sorry im gettin into this kinda late but i did the 3 inch body lift on my explorer. i took off the bumpers. pulled out the seats, pulled back all the carpet and had no problems at all. the only thing that stumped me was the stupid gas tank. i just coudnt get past that stupid thing. so well i left that one out. im sure that before i take it out on the off road ill pull the gas tank and put it in unless someone has a better idea but i never had a problem with the rest of the bolts.

Yeah fisrt thing you gotta do is take off the nut on top of the mount. do this from the engine bay with crazy long extensions. The rest is cake. As to the gas tank mount, I had another forrum memner hlod the mount in place while I ran the bolt down to it.

Did that! Like I said earlier, the bushing was spinning in the mount. We couldn't get anything to grab it and old it still.

hey ak exploder, where'd you get your lift and what'd it cost? i'm wanting to do this, and i just need to decide 2" or 3" and where to get it that wouldn't rape me on shipping...any ideas?

the body mount directly above the gas tank. Sorry i didnt explain that well

Well I would suggest try Northern 4x4 in Anchorage first then shop around online. Ed at Northern 4x4 is a great guy. Try www.4wheelparts.com and you can even find them on Ebay.
