Just trying to make sure I have all the tools needed to install body lift. What did you use to hold the body mount washers on the bottom of the truck ? Vise Grips or channel locks ? I have just standard size vise grips and channel locks, so I was thinking something much larger is going to be needed.

I've been spraying them with PB Blaster for a couple weeks now. The bolts under the feet look to be in the worst shape. I'm guessing I'm going to learn a few new 4 letter words on those.

Ideally you won't need to hold any part of the bushing- the bolt should just back out.

On mine, the very front 2 were the worst for me. I snapped a bolt on one and the other fought me for every degree of rotation I could get. The bolt snapped after the other one fought me- and I was glad because I wouldn't have to go through that PITA procedure.

Good luck. It's not a hard procedure- just takes time.

I used a set of big vise grips and locked them on the washer but wedged them against the frame to try and help. The factory loctite is a ***** and fought me every thread of most of the bolts. If you have access to a welder then I'd suggest welding a nut to the washer and have someone hold a wrench on that end or weld a piece of metal from the washer to the frame (this would be best). Good luck, if you haven't done it yet check your body bushings and replace if needed at the same time as bodylift.

If I put some heat to loosen the loctite would that ruin the body mount ?

I do have a cheap HF mig welder that I could weld a nut on body washer. Are those washers re-used with the new bolts from the body lift ?

Thanks Joe

When I did mine all I did was put a little heat on the bottom and they cam right out. Does not need much heat at all really.

Yes the (washer/ plate) is the bottom nut that holds the body bolt on.
