what is the difference between a suspension lift and a body lift?

Body lift just lifts the body off the frame and allows for bigger tires witch gives you more clearance. Sus lift will add articulation and flexabilty also allowing for larger tires for more clearance. For more info do a search there is a ton of info but if you are patient you will find all the info you could want and more.

Welcome to the site and happy trials!

This isn't always true. In fact, more times than not, it is false. A lot of suspension lifts merely "drop" the suspension from the frame, therefore helping nothing. Then there are examples like tortion twists, add-a-leafs, and stiffer lift coils which actually hurt articulation and flex.

But Positive Vibes was on the right track. A body lift is just lifting the actual body off the frame of the truck. A suspension lift is modifying the suspension, in multiple forms, to lift the frame and body.

Welcome Aboard!!!

That is true. It depends on the type of suspension you are lifting and the lift itself. On my 5.5" superlift it does what I was saying (more flex and articulation).
