hate to run this through general discussion cuz i know theses a "body work" section but there seems to be a lot of thraffic here. i have a 91 4 door eddie bauer exlporer that i am getting ready to do the body on. i rounded up all the parts to upgrade the front end to a 99. just wondering if anyones done this conversion and how it went. also i need a repair panel for the rear qtr. lips. the edge is rusted off and i would rather not buy a whole qtr panel to do this. does anybody sell a repair section or am i stuck fab'n it or buy'n the whole panel. thanks all

From what I have read here, I don't think it can be done, without major modification. I also inquired about that. If you pull it off, post a write up, others would be interested how to do it.

thanks explorer1, i think the major stumbling block is the core support an the upper part of the inner fenders. i will definitely document the project and post it. gonna be a winter project. last year i ran across a brand new 2000 4.0 crate moter in a local Ford dealer parts dept an put that in with a fresh tranny. this winters project is the body. maybe a lift kit an some 31X10.50's

I will be watching your progress, I would like to do the same thing, I think from the windsheild back they are the same.

i agree . . i think they are the same from the windshield back. just some trim diferances, tail lights an stuff. it will probably take me most of the winter to complete ( hafta do it between house projects) but i will definetly post the process. i'm suprised no one has posted yet on having already done somthing like this. i am kinda new to this forum. can any body point me to any older threads that may have somthing to do with this, not quite what words to use in a search. and actually my main reason for starting this thread was to see if any body offered the qtr. lip repair panels i mentioned earlier. thanks again

do you mean the part of the 1/4 kinda under / behind the door? If so do a search on "dog leg"

thanks rookie. i have the dog legs already. actually i need the arch directly above the wheel. the lip thats part of the qtr. panel. so far all i have seen avaliable is the whole quarter panel. just wondering if anybody is stamping just the lip. i know on some older trucks like broncos you can get just that part of the panel an weld it in.

no one has done this conversion ???? . . . .looks like i may hafta be the guinea pig here :D :D . . . .yes . . . ..to boldly go where no man has gone before. . . . . or should i just throw in the towel an buy a newer truck. :D :D

I wouldn't throw in the towel, I would keep the 91 look, and just build a awesome first gen. You have a better built suspension than the second gens. do.

You might just check in the for sale forum someone is parting out a 91 Eddie Bauer. You might get the stuff you need from there. It sounds like you are talking about trim around the wheel like I have on my Sport. It's moon shaped and not very wide. You might look for these on sports as well if we are talking about the same things.
