i posted this in general discussion also, thought i would run it through here too. i have a 91 4 door eddie bauer exlporer that i am getting ready to do the body on. i rounded up all the parts to upgrade the front end to a 99. just wondering if anyones done this conversion and how it went. also i need a repair panel for the rear qtr. lip(not the dog leg,but the section above the wheel). the edge is rusted off and i would rather not buy a whole qtr panel to do this. does anybody sell a repair section or am i stuck fab'n it or buy'n the whole qtr.panel. thanks all

The only peson I can think of off the top of my head is Rick, the owner of the site. He had a newer front end put on his 93.(The orange X at the top of the page) Check out his write up in the main page.

the main problem is getting someone to remove and reinstall a front clip.... rick has perrys conversion kit for the fenders... and it really isnt much... the fenders from perry's were designed to mount up to the older body style.... however, he has mounted up newer steel fenders of a stock nature to the x in recent times.....

go to www.rangerpowersports.com and look up "explorer front end conversion"

many have done this on their 93 and up rangers and a few on 87-92 rangers... same as your 91 explorer.

good luck..... your going to have to cut and weld the fenders to make them fit into the existing a-pillars and doors....

2000 conversion from perry's fab n fiber front clip= 600 fenders, hood, and grill. i belive the rear is like 400 for a 2 door just quarters, and know it is 600 for a 4 door quarters and rear doors. The quarters are just the wheel arch up to the window. :redexp: :chug:

the more i have been thinking about it and having my dads 98 parked next to my cousins 91 this weekend....

isnt the 91-01 all the same body, doors, and windshield!!!????

the rear quaters are just a little different cause of the tail lights, the rear door hatch is different and the front end........

shouldnt a factory 95-01 front bolt directly on to a 91-94...... you would need front fenders, wiper cowl, hood, headlights, parking lights, grille, bumper, panel behind grille and headlights.....

Pur Pony i don't know but i'll look in my haynes explorer book.keep you updated! ;)

anyone find out if this is possable?
