So I got these plate speakers from Boston Acoustics installed in the back of my truck now. They sound great, even with the stock speakers and the stock head unit. They'll sound a million times better once I get the new head unit and speakers in the front too I bet. I was very impressed with them, so I figured I'd just put in Boston Acoustics speakers up in the front and get a BA sub. The S85 speaker looks good for my front speakers, and the G210 sub looks perfect for me, it's reasonably priced, and I should be able to make it fit into a custom stealth box with it being only 10". I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with BA subwoofers, and how that experience was.

I'm also looking for advice on a relatively cheap sub amp with up to 300W RMS. That's the max on the G210, and I'm not looking to have a huge pounding building shaking system, so I don't really need any more than that.

EDIT: The 300W is at 4 Ohms too. All the amp power ratings I've seen are at 2 Ohms, so i'm a little confused.

I have no experience with BA subs or amps, but I have all BA speakers. I actually have NO clue what kind of BAs they are b/c my dad took my truck to his work, had all four speakers installed and a new Panasonic HU (all for $210 :bounce: ).

I just figured I'd let you know that I've had them for over 1.5 years and almost always have them cranked up(loud tires and windows down) and they still work awesome.

Funny story actually. My dad had these plate speakers in the back of his old car, where he added them into the back panel under the rear window. SOld the car and took them out, now they're installed inside my rear speaker panels inside the body of the truck(we made them fit even though they didn't want to :P). They've got at least 2-3 years of use on them and sound brand new.

Not looking at the BA Amps, they're way too pricey and are all multi-channel.

I have a friend who swears by BA, but I personally don't have any experience with them.

I have a set of boston acoustic rally series 8" subs in a custom boston box, and let me tell you they rock!!! when i let people hear my system they are like Damn that sounds good, and when i tell them that they are only 8's they about chit themselves. most people think im running at least 12's. and it's nice because it's a small box that doesnt take up much room. I am running them off of a 600 watt mono class A amp. i say go for it!!!!

yeah from what i hear boston acoustics are amazing for sound quality. definitely a good route to go. i have also heard a few sets in different vehicles, no matter what the vehicle was, still sounded crisp and clear. especially when using boston components, you can really seperate the instrumentals and what not.

i have 2 boston 10.5 lf's for sale for 220+ ship lmk if you want em

Some of the first component speakers I had when I was like 17 were 6.5 BA seperates with a 1" therofluid cooled soft dome tweeter. Those speakers ROCKED and they lasted me 3 cars. I was sad when BA left the car audio market, I was HAPPY when they came back a few years ago.
If you buy the higher end Boston Acoustics speakers you will be happy.
I have had my Soundstream Granite seperates in my truck for about 8 years now, Soundstream now sucks so I am thinking of going back to BA all the way around....

All of my speakers were bostons. I had 2 15" Pro's in the back and 2 pairs of Z6's in the doors. You can't go wrong running BA speakers for quality sound. But..... Much is dependant on what you push them with. I ran 4 Alpine amps, 2 540's and 2 500's. Good luck on your amp - speaker match up.
