I am working on my off road project again. I have a issue with the brake master cylinder being too long. It needs to be 1 inch shorter to clear the plenum. I dont need the cruise control switch. Is there a master cylinder that’s shorter that will work the explorer brakes? Of a smaller booster? Thanks

The 07+ ranger master cylinders are shorter

95 explorer no cruise control will not have the seitch

The-11 rangers do have a much shorter setup as well

For a 97 explorer gone 49 f1 project we did I used a mustang ii 8” booster and a 95 master cyl worked out really well for fender clearance

Back working on this again. Is it possible to use the cruise control switch to work the brake lights?
I have the booster and master cylinder fitted using the original 98 explorer parts. Its close but it fits. I have angled it up and away from the motor by putting a few washers under the booster.

I believe you could do that yes. Why not use the stock brake switch?

We just need to check the wiring for the cruise switch vs the wiring for the boo switch (brake on/off)

Yeah I should use an original switch. I broke the one I had and was looking for an alternative. With the booster on a bit of an angle the switch wont fit on the pedal in the original position

An old school pressure switch would work
