Ok, so I'm back to square one with my calipers. The paint was holding in the heat which caused the grease on the slides to burn off and made them stick. All the paint was blasted off the calipers so now they have that nice stock look to them again 
Oh, well... I'd rather have them working properly than be shiny silver. Doesnt seem like a layer of paint would cause that but apparently it can.
