Brake Controller

I installed a controller today using the harness supplied and the wiring diagram provided. After installing there is a problem. I am getting a clicking noise coming from the gear shifter while in park and pressing on the brake. If I depress the button to shift into another gear it really starts to click. Once I am in any other gear the noise goes away like nothing is wrong. I disconnected the harness but that didn't help. Did something get screwed up when I plugged in the trailer harness? Everything seems ok with the controller, the light comes on when I press the brake.

Just an update, I plugged the trailer into the truck and everything seems to be working as it should. I am wondering if this is the brake safety switch acting up and it was just a fluke that it happened at the same time.
Very confused????

Yes just like that. I dont think it is a normal sound or it would have been doing it the whole time. I guess I will take it in, it is still under warranty.
