I just want to know how important is that brake dust cover that covers the rotor? I took mine of in the front because when i replace my spindle, it didn't come with a hole to for the cover. Should i drill one and put it back on?

Their main purpose is to keep dirt road debris from having easy access to the rotor. This hepls reduce the chance for dirt getting trapped between the brake pad and rotor (which causes the brakes to squeel). If you can live with the chance that the brakes might make noise it isn't necassary to have the dust plate.
