Ok, slight problem, nothing major.

I've noticed when at a dead stop, or even coming to one, I press the brake pedal in, yet if I let off slightly (brakes still engaged) my brake lights go out, including the high mount.

I was curious if there's a way to "tighten" up the brake light button (or whatever) so that if I release a VERY slight bit of pressure the lights don't go out unless the pedal is fully depressed.

I've searched but found nothing resembling my problem (unless I didn't search with the right terms).

Thanks

Ford calls the brake light switch BOO (Brake On/Off). I don't think there is any adjustment for it - its either on or off. If it isn't working right, you could check to make sure that it is installed correctly, but I don't think there is any adjustment.

Bah, was affraid of that, I looked for about 2 hours last night all over the pedal and under hood (just in case) I didn't see anything, might have to take it to the dealer and see what's up (still have another 30 days on warranty)

That tends to happen to a lot of them.... If you push the brakes down, then ever-so-slightly release it, the booster push-rod can stay in place, and the BOO switch spring allows the pedal to move back.... basically the spring in the switch pushes the pedal back a little bit, but there's still enough force there with the power assist to keep the brakes applied.

My F-150 does it, and my Explorer does it.... the F-150 before that did it, the Probe GT and 93 Ranger did it, and the '90 Ranger I had did it.... I'm not overly concerned with it.

I had the same thing happen in mine and hated it, but didn't look into it at all. Just the slightest release of pressure on the pedal let the lights go out. I'm guessing it's a common issue.

Yea, it's annoying more than anything, I'm worried one day some bozo behind me will not pay attention, see the lights go out and bend up my bumper haha...it could happen, look outside at the drivers :P

Thanks for the replies guys! Appreciated
