I had 700#s of stone in the bed on Saturday when I noticed the brake pedal got mushy. Then the lights came on and the pedal went to the floor ;)

I pulled over at a gas station and the master cylinder was almost dry.

The rear hardline broke about a foot from the front of the gas tank. It look a hour just to get the skid plate off ;) The problem is the gas tank (plastic) is in the way of the brake line as it travels in the C of the frame.

I have a bluebird double flare kit (used on my CJ7) but I was wondering how to get to the thing without having to drop a full gas tank.

i just went through this with mine

since it is steel and has broke once why try to repair it?

just go to the parts store and get a piece of stainless and run a new one ( what i did ) then you can snake it down past the full tank

That line is fairly long, and oddly bent. I'd try to replace the end which would be easiest to bend to match. Take your time making the double flares, they need to be perfect. Good luck,
