I have a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT (4x4). When the brake pedal is depressed and held down, a high-pitched whining noise can be heard. It is not a constant noise and if you release the pressure from the pedal slightly, it stops. It also seems to occur randomly. I believe the noise is related to the ABS system but it's fairly annoying.
